Definition Part 2 - Americanist

One can call oneself anything they wish. However, if they do not subscribe and act accordingly to the basic tenets of that belief or group, then it is in name only. And therefore they are actually practicing hypocrisy, not the belief or group they claim to be part of. An extreme example would be this:
Someone claims to be a Catholic. Now a basic Tenet of Catholicism is that there is a Holy Trinity – God the Father, God the Spirit and God the Son. All Three as One. Now say this someone does not believe that Jesus Christ is God the Son. They go to Church each Sunday, they go to Confession, they do all the other things that being a Catholic is all about. But because they do not believe in one of the basic Tenets of Catholicism, they are not Catholic. Period.
Same goes for being an Americanist. There are some core beliefs and Tenets that one either believes in all of them or it doesn’t matter, one isn’t an Americanist.

The Ten Tenets of Americanism
Tenet – That there is a Supreme Being and that there was Divine Participation in the making of the USA.
(Click here for expanded explanation – Date Added: )

Tenet – That America is Exceptional and therefore has a strong belief in American Exceptionalism.
(Click here for expanded explanation – Date Added: )

Tenet – All men & women have certain inalienable rights. And with those rights an Americanist recognizes the Obligation that comes with each.
(Click here for expanded explanation – Date Added: )

Tenet – That every man and woman is equal under the law and bound by the law. That no one is ‘above’ the law.
(Click here for expanded explanation – Date Added: )

Tenet – That each Individual is responsible for their own lives and actions and that they carry their own load and not be a burden to society if able-bodied.
(Click here for expanded explanation – Date Added: )

Tenet – That the Federal Government has limited, enumerated powers and should have the least amount of economic, social and personal intrusions and participation.
(Click here for expanded explanation – Date Added: )

Tenet – That there is a Minimum Public Service Duty of all Citizens.
(Click here for expanded explanation – Date Added: )

Tenet – That those elected to Public Service/Office have a duty and obligation to serve Honestly, Honorably and for the Public’s benefit, not their own.
(Click here for expanded explanation – Date Added: )

Tenet – That the American economic system is based upon Capitalism and is run by the Private Sector, not the Government.

Tenet – That Life is neither Fair nor Unfair. It just is.

And there you have the basic core beliefs of Americanism and what it takes to be an Americanist. When enough Americans believe and abide by the tenants then the system works and works very well. It is only when American Citizens start to pick and choose which to abide by does the system seem to be flawed. It is then that the greatest danger lies to the system itself. The very same people who only ascribe to portions of Americanism decry the system is ‘flawed’ and they know how to ‘fix’ it. History and reality have proved them wrong time after time; their ‘fixes’ merely water down and weaken the system, not strengthen or enhance it. The arrogance they display telling themselves and others that they know better than the accumulated genius of our Founding Fathers is beyond mind boggling. What they are actually doing is arguing against success; Americanism brought about the greatest nation on earth in less than 150 years. And now, with all of the ‘fixes’ having their impact the US of A really is in decline at this point in history. It is only when enough American Citizens start believing and living the Americanist way will the US of A regain its strength and ascendancy in the world theater, thus once again becoming man’s best hope.

Americanism is very similar to a car in terms of analogy. A car’s purpose is to get a person from point A to point B.  Now if you take away some of the basic components (tenets to Americanism) of the car, such as the Engine, the electrical system, fuel and such, it will not work. If one takes away some of the Tenets of Americanism, how does one think that it will work?

Be an Americanist. It works.

Definition Part 1 - Americanism

Americanism. A philosophy pertaining to a political, economic and to some extent social system by which a group of individuals govern themselves and interact economically and socially. Having roots that go back to pre-Roman times, the final merging of ideas into true Americanism came about with the publishing of the Declaration of Independence of 1776 and then the ratification of the United States of America’s Constitution of 1788 and even up to the Bill of Rights Amendments(1791). Both documents, with further expanding and explanations coming from several other documents of the time, constitute the philosophy of Americanism; some written and some just simply taken for granted.

Philosophy
The first and foremost aspect of Americanism is the simple fact that there is something ‘higher’ than any government itself; a Creator, God or even the Laws of Nature. It is this concept that allows for the rest of the philosophy & system to exist and be so successful; true Americanism can not operate or function without this basic tenant. There are Rights and Liberties which are not given to us by men or governments and therefore can not be taken away by men or governments.

The Government Component
Americanism constitutes the merging of several forms of governing. Federalism, Democracy, Representative… they are all there somehow. But it’s the way the Powers & Authority are set up that make Americanism unique. It is the only system that gives the most Powers(quantity) to the Individual(lowest layer) yet gives the most Authority on settled issues to the Federal government(highest layer). And then add in the fact that it is the Individual that elects those on the Federal level and you have an inherent built-in system of, the first of many, checks and balances.

The Economic Component
Americanism uses Capitalism as its main form of economic policy. Capitalism’s primary tenant is that most production, consumption and ownership is by the non-government sector of society. It allows the Individual to make life choices that will dictate their own outcome to the largest possible extent in career, wealth and priorities. By its very nature it encourages people to strive, be productive and be innovative. This in turn offers the People more choices that they themselves then make pertaining to what is wanted and acquired.

The Social Component
The social component of Americanism has been written about in sections and pieces, but never in its entirety nor directly attributed to the philosophy of Americanism. While there are many aspects and variations to the social side of Americanism, there are however some core components that all else branches from.

--Equality. Not in skill. Not in possessions. Not in physical attributes. Not in mental attributes. Equality in value measured to another life; equality under the law; equality in freedoms; equality in choices and chances.

--Self-Reliance. Americanism prides itself on the self-reliance of its Individuals. They pull their own weight; they work to eat. They work harder to have nice things. They work even more or innovate something the society wants to have even more if they wish it. Their neighbor doesn’t have to feed them. Their city doesn’t have to house them. The Federal government doesn’t provide them with cradle to grave support.

--Self-Responsibility. Americanists own their own actions. They also own the results of those actions.

--Charity. Americanism is a philosophy that wants everyone to succeed, be happy, have enough, make their own choices. That’s the beauty of the system; it’s the first man-made, Divine-Inspired system that wants all of humanity to be free and be fulfilled. But, when Life intervenes and some have tough times, we gather together and get them through it. A temporary hand up not a life of a hand out. Local community soup kitchens, churches handing out bags of groceries, neighbors helping neighbors, family helping family. It's a philosophy that the lowest level on up is how to solve problems and help each citizen.

--Generational Improvement. Americanism consists of the idea that each generation builds upon the previous generation's accomplishments to improve the lot and condition of the following generation.

SoA - The Spirit of America

The Spirit of America (SoA) is several things: an Entity, a Gift and a Burden.

The Entity
The SoA truly is a being unto itself. It exists as much as you or I. While it may not be corporeal, it has impact, it has being. It was conceived (July 4th, 1776), gestated (1776-1788) and born(Jun. 21, 1788). It is an entity that came about as a joint effort between the Creator and Mankind. And because of such it has both spiritual and secular components. The philosophy(Americanism) that the SoA espouses has moved millions of men and women to spread it, defend it and even die for it so that their children and all of mankind may benefit by it. It has convinced millions to give up everything they have and even to risk their lives to move to a place that practices it. It has rewarded those that follow it by raising their standard of living, by giving them a chance to improve their lives, to practice their religion, to voice any of their thoughts, to assemble with any they choose, to pursue their idea of happiness.

Hi The Gift
The Gift is the philosophy that the SoA espouses: Americanism(to be defined in a different post). Each man and woman that lives in a place that follows it has so much because of it. The Gift comes directly from the Creator and put into writing and practice by the Founding Fathers. That the Creator had a part in it is so obvious and it is what makes it so special beyond words. What part? Think about a car. It has ‘Critical Components’ to it. A car’s mission is to get you from point A to point B. If it lacks a radio, it will still fulfill its mission. If it has no tires however, it can’t. Tires therefore are ‘Critical Components’. Same with its engine; no engine, it fails. But if no windows, no problem, it’ll still succeed. Well, for the SoA to have come about, several things had to have been ‘in place’. And never before has all the ‘Critical Components’ been in place, never. Such as the greatest assemblage of moral geniuses in the same time and same place and working on the same topic. And then there are the leaders… so many great leaders and again in the same time and place. And a Tyrant; for without him there would have been no reason to rebel. And distance. It aided in our rebellion in many ways. And Heroes. Sooooooo many heroes that fought, that gave their lives and fortunes. Never before or since has so many ‘Critical Components’ been in place to make such an entity happen. If any one of the above things, and others, been missing we would not have Americanism. You are living in a time that Americanism exists, and you did absolutely nothing to earn that initial circumstance. That’s called a Gift.

The Burden
Participate. That’s the burden. By participating, the true SoA is kept alive, functioning and healthy. And there are so many ways to participate. Military service is participation; the military defends the SoA from tangible, physical threats to its well-being. Voting is participation; it demonstrates that such a Gift is worthy of your attention. Attending city council meetings, writing to your Senator and/or your Representative to express your opinions, that’s participation. To be honest in your debating of topics that pertain to the SoA demonstrating good solid character and moral fortitude. Volunteering time and energy helping others in your community; it shows passing on the Gift as it was passed onto you. Pick any one or more of the above, and others not mentioned. Even if only one man or woman(instead of the millions) gave their life or fortune so you could have the Gift of the SoA, don’t you think it’s your most basic yet important of all duties to complete? To shoulder such a light burden for such an astounding Gift is quite literally the deal of your lifetime.
